In conversation with: Curated by. Albert Esteve & Max Enrich.
Curated by. isn’t just a fashion brand, a homeware brand, or an accessories brand. The quality of the timeless, unique objects is what distinguishes the brand's effortlessly cool collections.
For Curated by., quality comes before quantity as seen in their limited edition pieces that are original and both socially and environmentally sustainable. We caught up with the founders to find out more about their locally produced collections, collaborative projects, and their aim to promote a lifestyle based on a slow consumption model.
VASQUIAT Curated by. is known for its designer collaborations. Why have you chosen to feature these collaborations in your collections?
CURATED BY. Everything that comes from Curated by. has been designed by us or at least we’ve been involved in the design process.
We really enjoy discovering and learning from all kinds of different projects and people. We love to collaborate with them and jointly create pieces that inspire both parties.
V What quality do these collaborations give the final product?
CB Two brains think more than one, so every product that arises when we collaborate with others comes from more than one universe. It’s this knowledge that makes the final product so special and interesting.
The Curated by. Light Corduroy Shirt. Handcrafted in Barcelona
The Curated by. handblown glass Wavy Bowl. Crafted by a local glass artisan.
“Two brains think more than one, so every product that arises when we collaborate with others comes from more than one universe.”
V You produce a limited amount of high-quality products. Do you believe this to be luxury?
CB We would not describe it as luxury but as unique.
Curated by. Logo Cap in Red. Made from 100% washed cotton.
“We produce things that we miss at home or that we want for ourselves, meaning that we don’t follow trends.”
V What makes Curated by. special and unique to other brands who are exploring a similar path in artisanal crafts, local production, and sustainability?
CB. We produce things that we miss at home or that we want for ourselves, meaning that we don’t follow trends. We just design lifestyle products that are useful and beautiful.
V Why is sustainability so important to Curated by.?
CB We don’t conceive that things could be made in another way, at least there is no other way for us to design. It is a component that is taken for granted, but we find it essential.
